When the mehndi usually is, and who comes

Usually the afternoon or evening one or two days before the wedding, often running straight into the sangeet.

The bride's side, close friends and the women of both families, though most families now invite everyone.

Wording you can use

Short lines work better than formal ones for a mehndi. These are yours to copy and change.

  • Come for the mehndi, stay for the music.
  • Artists from 4 pm. Come early if you would like yours done.
  • Green and yellow, if you are choosing.

The thing this invite usually gets wrong

Treating it as one event when it is really two. If the mehndi runs into the sangeet, list both with their own start times so guests know which part they are coming for.

On its own, or as part of the wedding invite

You can send a mehndi invitation on its own, or add the mehndi as one event inside your main wedding invite alongside the other functions. Either way it carries its own date, time, venue and map link, and events you leave blank never appear.
