The Anand Karaj is early, so the timing has to be unmissable

An Anand Karaj usually finishes by mid morning, and guests who arrive late miss the lavan entirely. On a printed card the time is one line among twenty. On the invite it sits with the event, in its own card, next to a map link to the gurdwara.

If your family holds the Akhand Path across the days before, it goes on the same invite with its own start and end.

  • Roka and Chunni Chadhai
  • Akhand Path, with its start and the bhog timing
  • Jago and Sangeet
  • Mehndi
  • Anand Karaj at the gurdwara, with the exact time
  • Reception, often the same evening

Wording and the opening line

Most Sikh invitations open with Ik Onkar Satnam or with Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. That opening line is a field you write, so it appears exactly as your family says it.

Names, the elders inviting, and the request for blessings are all yours to word. Nothing is filled in for you.

Langar numbers, without the phone calls

The reason to collect replies is not tidiness, it is catering. Langar and the reception both need a number, and chasing that number across a family WhatsApp group is the part nobody enjoys.

Guests reply inside the invite. You see attending, declined and the total, and you can download the list as a PDF or an Excel sheet to hand to whoever is arranging the food.

Common questions

Yes. Each event carries a venue and a map link, so a guest taps once and their phone opens directions to the gurdwara.
