2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse Digital Invite, create an account, sign in with Google, buy an invitation or a card, edit your invite or card, or when guests open a published invitation and submit an RSVP.
By using Digital Invite, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
3. Information we collect
Account data. Name, email, phone (if provided), billing address and state, authentication information (password hash and/or Google subject ID), email verification status, and security logs (such as IP address, user agent, and sign-in events).
Invitation content. Names, family information, event details, venue and address, photos, videos, custom text, share settings, and optional custom domain settings for your invitation.
RSVP data.Information guests submit through an invitation's RSVP form, which may include name, phone, email, attendance, party size, meal or dietary preferences, accommodation choices, custom responses, and notes, depending on the fields you enable.
Payment and invoice data. Order records, invoice details, and payment references processed through Razorpay. We do not store full card or UPI secrets on our servers.
Custom design orders. If our team makes a design for you, we record the order (its number, what we agreed to make, notes our team needs, the amount and its progress). Our conversation about the design happens on WhatsApp; we store only what our team types into the order or into your invitation, including any Hindi text.
Video orders. If you order an invitation video on WhatsApp, we receive what you send in that chat: your phone number, the names of the couple and of family members, the event date, time and venue, photographs, music and your messages, and we record the order and its payments. Photographs and names of other people are used only to make your video, and you confirm you may share them with us (see the Video Order Terms).
Security and technical data. IP address, user agent, timestamps, rate limit signals, and audit information used to secure the service and investigate abuse.
Partner programme data (partners only). If you join our partner programme, we may collect PAN, payout details, and tax-related information needed to pay commissions and meet legal obligations.
Support messages. Emails or messages you send to our support or grievance addresses.
4. Google Sign-In
When you choose Continue with Google, we request only these Google OAuth scopes: openid, email, and profile. We receive your Google email, verification status, display name (if provided), and a unique Google user ID. We do not receive your Google password or access Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or contacts.
We use Google account data only to authenticate you, manage your account, and contact you about your account or purchases. Digital Invite's use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Public invitation pages
Published invitation pages are publicly accessible to anyone who has the link. Digital Invite does not intentionally index invitation pages in search engines. Do not treat a share link as a private or access-controlled space unless you use additional measures outside our product.
6. RSVP
Guests can RSVP without creating a Digital Invite account. Information submitted through an invitation's RSVP form is processed to provide the RSVP functionality and is made available to the invitation owner according to the configured RSVP fields. Depending on your settings, RSVP responses may identify a guest (for example by name, phone, or email).
7. How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve Digital Invite
- Create and manage your account, including Google Sign-In
- Host and display your invitation and collect RSVP replies for you
- Let you edit and download invitation cards you bought
- Process payments, issue tax invoices and credit notes, and handle refunds
- Send transactional email (verification, invoices, expiry notices, and similar)
- Send you two kinds of follow-up email: one reminder if you start a purchase and do not finish paying, and one request for a review on Google a few days after you start using what you bought. Each is sent at most once, says why you got it, and has a link to stop them. Stopping them does not affect sign-in, payment, invoice or expiry emails.
- Measure how visitors use the site and which of our ads work, only if you accept cookies
- Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and meet legal or tax duties
- Respond to privacy, grievance, and support requests
We do not sell your personal information.
9. Retention and deletion
You can delete individual invitations, RSVP replies, and uploaded media from your dashboard where those controls are available. You can request account deletion from Settings → Privacy or by emailing us.
When you delete content or close your account, we remove or anonymise personal data from active systems according to our retention processes. Some information may be retained longer where required by law, including financial and tax records (such as invoices, credit notes, and payment records) for the period required under applicable Indian law, including GST record-keeping requirements.
After your invitation's hosting period ends (2 months from purchase), public access stops immediately. Thirty days later we permanently delete the invitation and everything in it: your names, event and venue details, every photo you uploaded, your RSVP questions, and every reply your guests sent, including their names and contact details. The same thirty-day clock runs if you delete an invitation yourself, so an accidental deletion can still be recovered by contacting us within that window. After it passes, the data is gone and cannot be restored.
Financial and tax records are the exception and are kept for the period Indian law requires, including GST record-keeping. Those records identify the purchase, not your guests.
For a custom design order, the description and notes are cleared 90 days after the order is cancelled, once its invitation is deleted, or at once if you close your account; the order number, amount, payment and invoice are kept as financial records. If you close your account while a paid custom order is still being made, the order ends without a refund.
10. Invitation videos
For a video order, the editable project files are deleted when the order is completed, which is 24 hours after we deliver the final video. The drafts, your photographs and music, and our copy of the final video are deleted within 30 days after completion. The WhatsApp chat is kept for up to 3 years after completion so that we can deal with any claim, and invoices and payment records are kept for the period Indian law requires. The chat is also held by WhatsApp, a service of Meta Platforms, under its own terms. We do not sell this information and do not show your video, names or photographs publicly without your written permission. The rest is in the Video Order Terms.
11. Digital invitation cards
If you buy a card we store the names entered at checkout, the text and photographs you add in the editor, and records of download attempts (including a short note of the browser used, so we can see whether a file reached you). Preview work you do before paying stays on your device until you buy. We do not receive that draft unless you later seed it into your purchased card.
Card files and the photos on them are kept for 60 days from payment, then permanently deleted from our systems. Files you already downloaded stay on your device. Invoices and tax records of the purchase are kept for the period Indian law requires.
To ask us to erase a card sooner, email invites@shyara.co.in from your account email, or use Settings → Privacy. We will confirm when the card content has been removed. Financial records of the purchase may still be retained where the law requires it.
12. Your choices and privacy requests
- Update account details in Settings
- Disconnect Google Sign-In after setting a password
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data
- Raise a privacy grievance or complaint
- Stop the follow-up emails with the "Stop these emails" link in any of them
- Change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time (section 15)
Email invites@shyara.co.in for access, correction, deletion, or grievance requests. You may also use Settings → Privacy where available. For formal consumer grievances, see our Grievance Redressal page.
We work toward privacy and security practices aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection framework. Some provisions of the DPDP Act and Rules are subject to phased commencement; we do not claim certification or full operational compliance with every provision before it applies.
13. Children
Digital Invite account holders must be adults who can enter a binding contract. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 for account registration.
Wedding invitations may mention or depict minors as part of event content uploaded by the host. RSVP respondents may include guests of any age. We ask hosts not to collect more personal information about children than needed for the event, and we ask hosts to obtain appropriate consent from parents or guardians where required.
14. Security
We use safeguards such as HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls, encryption for sensitive guest data, and session security. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
16. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
