When the haldi usually is, and who comes

Usually the morning of the wedding or the day before, at home, and it starts closer to on time than any other function.

Close family and the friends who will not mind turmeric on their clothes. It is the smallest of the functions and the most informal.

Wording you can use

Short lines work better than formal ones for a haldi. These are yours to copy and change.

  • Join us for the haldi, the morning we turn yellow together.
  • Please wear something you do not mind staining.
  • Yellow is encouraged and completely optional.

The thing this invite usually gets wrong

The address. A haldi is at the house, not the venue on the wedding card, and that is the single most common reason guests turn up in the wrong place. Give it its own address and its own map link.

On its own, or as part of the wedding invite

You can send a haldi invitation on its own, or add the haldi as one event inside your main wedding invite alongside the other functions. Either way it carries its own date, time, venue and map link, and events you leave blank never appear.
