What a video does well
A video is familiar. It plays inside WhatsApp without anyone tapping a link, older relatives understand it immediately, and a good one looks lovely.
If that is all you need, a video is a reasonable choice and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
What a video cannot do
The three things families ask for most after they have sent the invitation are all impossible in a video file.
- It cannot be changed. A shifted muhurat means a new video and a second forward to everyone.
- It cannot collect replies. You still count heads by phone and by WhatsApp group.
- It cannot give directions. There is no map link inside a video, so guests screenshot the address and type it into Maps themselves.
- It is heavy. A 20 MB file on a slow connection is a file some guests never finish downloading.
